AAAA Region 5 recap November 19, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in AAAA Region 5 this week, Sandy Creek beat Cedartown 63-10. This was the team's 10th consecutive win.
Alexander and Dalton played the most contested game in the league this week, with Alexander eventually emerging with a 13-10 victory. Mikell Lands-Davis ran for 198 yards and caught 2 passes for 10 yards in the win.
Lands-Davis was a passing and rushing force as the Cougars topped the Catamounts. Lands-Davis' key target this week was Brian Dansereau, who caught 6 passes for 68 yards.
Dansereau was the best receiver in the league this week as Alexander topped Dalton. Dansereau racked up 6 receptions for 68 yards. Isaac Zico helped Alexander's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 35 yards.
Sandy Creek's Cole Garvin and Demarre Kitt have formed a dream team this season, leading AAAA Region 5 in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Garvin has thrown for 1,637 yards this season, while Kitt has 45 catches for 744 yards. Lands-Davis from Matt Combs' team leads the league in rushing with 1,957 yards.
Chip Walker's team took down the Bulldogs 63-10 last week, the largest margin of any game.
