Basketball Recap: Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont Skates Past Cardinal with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont). They breezed by the Cardinal Comets to the tune of 73-26 on Friday. Given the Rockets' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Comets are ranked 132nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont's win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Cardinal, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont will be home for the holidays to greet Clarke at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont is facing Clarke at the right time seeing as Clarke is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Cardinal, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sigourney at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Sigourney will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Cardinal surely won't give up without a fight.
