Mendota had to endure a nine-match losing streak, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Plano Reapers on Saturday. This was a revenge game for the Trojans: when they faced off against the Reapers back in September, they had to take a 2-0 loss.

Mendota's offense was headlined by Mariyah Elam and LayLie DenauLt, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Eva Beetz and her 12 assists. Finally, Elam was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Mendota's victory bumped their record up to 5-22. As for Plano, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-18 record this season.

Mendota will head out to take on Princeton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Plano, they will be playing at home against Johnsburg at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
