Basketball Recap: Lifegate Christian Takes a Loss

Lifegate Christian had lost three straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 3-5 to make it four. They took a blow against the Calvary Chapel Christian Academy Archangels, falling 59-31. The Falcons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-16.

As for Calvary Chapel Christian Academy, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points over those games.

Calvary Chapel Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nash Avitia out in front who went 7-for-16 en route to 19 points and four steals. Avitia has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last three times he's played. Jedaiah Bernal was another key player, shooting 86% from the field on his way to 14 points along with five boards and four steals.

Coming up, after both having extra time off, Lifegate Christian and Gateway Christian will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:15 p.m. on January 8, 2026. As for Calvary Chapel Christian Academy, they will challenge Town East Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
