Baseball Recap: Morgan Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

Morgan barely beat Old Saybrook the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Huskies blew past the Rams 12-2 on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Huskies, who have now won four contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Jacoby Brown spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Morgan let Jack Henry Palazzo and Dom Larabee run wild. Palazzo went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Larabee went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs. Those two hits gave Larabee a new career-high. Wyatt Luke was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Morgan hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive matchups.

Morgan pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Old Saybrook, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Coming up, Morgan will take on Old Lyme at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Huskies are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Old Saybrook, they will square off against Cromwell at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
