Collins Hill had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Berkmar Patriots, sneaking past 2-1. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Destinee Evans paced Collins Hill's offense, picking up nine kills. Evans were helped by Anna LaPerriere and Rianna Mata, who contributed ten assists each. Jalissa Woods controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.
Collins Hill wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Meadowcreek on the 7th. As for Berkmar, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on South Gwinnett at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th.
