Softball Game Preview: Sherwood Marksmen vs. Lincoln College Prep Blue Tigers

The Sherwood Marksmen will square off against the Lincoln College Prep Blue Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Sherwood managed to slip by Wheatland the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Marksmen lost 17-2 to the Mules on Tuesday.

Sherwood saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kalli Gariepy, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Notre Dame de Sion hit Lincoln College Prep with a eight-run fourth inning last Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Blue Tigers came up short against the Storm, falling 15-5. The Blue Tigers have struggled against the Storm recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Lincoln College Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Sherwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-15.

Sherwood took their win against Lincoln College Prep when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1 score. Will the Marksmen repeat their success, or do the Blue Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
