Volleyball Game Preview: Wakefield Memorial Warriors vs. Lexington Minutemen

Wakefield Memorial hasn't had much luck against Lexington recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Minutemen at 6:00 p.m. Wakefield Memorial will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Wakefield Memorial will bounce into Thursday's matchup after beating Melrose, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Warriors blew past the Red Raiders 3-0 on Tuesday.

While Wakefield Memorial might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Melrose scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-23, 25-23.

Among those leading the charge was Brendia Diaz, who had seven digs and one assist.

Lexington had taken Woburn Memorial down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Minutemen fell just short of the Tanners by a score of 3-2.

Lexington's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Wakefield Memorial, their win bumped their record up to 12-4.
