Softball Recap: Sunnyside Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Sunnyside dropped their record down to 11-11 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They fell 13-9 to the Eisenhower Cadets. The Grizzlies were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cadets earlier this season, when they won 9-2.

Lili Briones was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Makenna Castro, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

As for Eisenhower, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-14. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the contest before.

On Eisenhower's side, Nicole Salmanca was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Zabella Hickenbottom, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and one double.

As of now, neither Sunnyside nor Eisenhower have any future games scheduled.
