Softball Recap: Countryside Wins Going Away Against Blake

It's playoff time, and Countryside had no trouble coming through when it counted. They never let the Blake Yellow Jackets get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory on Tuesday. That looming 17-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Cougars yet this season.

Kaitlyn Crouch was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Crouch was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Ella Sprague was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Kimberly Crouch was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.

Countryside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .760. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Countryside's record is now 4-13. As for Blake, their record now sits at 8-12.

Looking ahead, Countryside will challenge Clearwater at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tornadoes will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight. Blake does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
