Recap: Fridley Tigers vs. Richfield Spartans
The Fridley Tigers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Richfield on the road to the tune of 76-43. That 76-43 margin sets a new team best for Fridley this season.
Sophia Jensen continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 18 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. She also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Brandi Washington, who scored 17 points along with four steals.
Richfield's loss came despite strong showings from Brianna Johnson and Ania Laduke. Johnson scored nine points along with 13 rebounds and four steals, while Laduke scored eight points along with three steals. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played.
Fridley's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-2. As for Richfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-2.
Fridley will head out on the road to face off against Two Rivers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Two Rivers is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 64.9 points per game. Richfield will be home for the holidays to greet Mound-Westonka at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mound-Westonka is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
