Baseball Recap: West Wilkes Takes a Loss

West Wilkes blew Wilkes Central out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Wilkes Central got their revenge. The Blackhawks fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 9-7. The Blackhawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

West Wilkes' defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Wilkes Central, their win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-15.

West Wilkes didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-3 victory against Mount Airy on the 23rd. As for Wilkes Central, they have also already played their next contest, a 13-3 win against South Stokes on the 23rd.
