The Nova Titans will square off against the Flanagan Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Taravella hit Nova with a 20-run fifth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Titans came up short against the Trojan Man, falling 32-25. Even if the Titans couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Dasia Davis stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she got on base in six of her seven plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. She has been hot recently, having posted four or more RBI the last three times she's played. Jordyn Barrett was another key player, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
Meanwhile, Flanagan waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Gators as they made off with a 20-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won seven games by 13 runs or more so far this season.
Adrianna Mose made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Mose was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.
In other batting news, Kendall Tirotta was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Lucia Oramas, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Flanagan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .730. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
This is the second loss in a row for Nova and nudges their season record down to 3-6-1. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Flanagan, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Nova has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .610. However, it's not like Flanagan struggles in that department as they've averaged .475. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Nova came up short against Flanagan in their previous meeting back in February, falling 12-8. Will the Titans have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
