Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Alani-Skye Wilkerson and Jewel Gully Lead Seventy-First to Victory

Seventy-First hadn't done well against Purnell Swett recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Seventy-First Falcons strolled past the Purnell Swett Rams with points to spare, taking the game 51-34. The win continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won three in a row.

Seventy-First was led to victory by Jewel Gully and Alani-Skye Wilkerson. Gully dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 boards, while Wilkerson dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Wilkerson has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last eight times she's played. Desire Mack was another key player, putting up five points.

Seventy-First's victory bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Purnell Swett, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-18.
