Basketball Game Preview: St. Patrick Shamrocks vs. Chicago Mt. Carmel Caravan

The St. Patrick Shamrocks will face off against the Chicago Mt. Carmel Caravan at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a 11-game winning streak alive.

St. Patrick is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against Fenwick by a score of 54-44.

Meanwhile, Chicago Mt. Carmel faced St. Laurence in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Chicago Mt. Carmel sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 54-51 victory over St. Laurence. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Caravan have posted since December 13, 2024.

Chicago Mt. Carmel's win came from a few key players St. Patrick will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Grant Best, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 12 boards. His big performance that evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Mister, who posted 15 points.

St. Patrick's record now sits at 27-7. As for Chicago Mt. Carmel, their record now sits at 29-5.

St. Patrick came up short against Chicago Mt. Carmel in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, falling 56-46. Can St. Patrick avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
