Basketball Game Preview: Whitehouse Wildcats vs. Mt. Pleasant Tigers

Whitehouse hasn't had much luck against Mt. Pleasant recently, but that could start to change on Friday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Whitehouse Wildcats challenge the Mt. Pleasant Tigers at 2:30 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Whitehouse is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Tuesday. They lost 70-50 to Texas. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 780th, while the Tigers are ranked 338th).

Meanwhile, Mt. Pleasant entered their contest against Lufkin on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Mt. Pleasant fell to Lufkin 59-55. The Tigers just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Mt. Pleasant's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-4. As for Whitehouse, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.

Whitehouse lost to Mt. Pleasant at home by a decisive 52-35 margin when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Whitehouse avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
