In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Garin Grant, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-5. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Adrian Freitez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
Lighthouse Private Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Central waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 9-8 W against the Gators. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Jaguars have posted against the Gators since March 10, 2022.
Quincy Wilson was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Brock Reeves, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.
Central pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Lighthouse Private Christian Academy, their record now sits at 7-4.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Lighthouse Private Christian Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .489. However, it's not like Central struggles in that department as they've averaged .466. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
