Softball Game Preview: Battle Mountain Longhorns vs. Yerington Lions

For the second straight game, Battle Mountain will face off against Yerington. The Longhorns will be playing at home against the Lions at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Battle Mountain is coming into the match hot, having won their last nine games.

On Friday, Battle Mountain made easy work of Yerington and carried off a 9-1 victory. Considering the Longhorns have won 15 games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Aspen Swanger spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on eight hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jazmin Johnson was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Thalia Gonzalez, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Battle Mountain always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .531 or higher in nine consecutive contests.

Battle Mountain pushed their record up to 15-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.
