Basketball Recap: Wellington Victorious

Wellington won the last time they faced Western Reserve, and Brooke Lehmkuhl did her part to make sure it happened again. The Wellington Dukes walked away with a 31-21 win over the Western Reserve Roughriders on Monday thanks in part to Lehmkuhl, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Wellington's points.

Camryn Morris was another key player, putting up two points along with five blocks and four steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in blocks.

Wellington now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Western Reserve, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Wellington didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 41-38 victory against Oberlin on the 4th. As for Western Reserve, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 37-31 loss against Mapleton on the 7th.
