Jacob Walls commands the offense for Warriors win

Even though the Teays Valley Christian Lions scored an imposing 59 points on Tuesday, the West Logan Christian Academy Warriors still came out on top. West Logan Christian Academy enjoyed a cozy 75-59 victory over Teays Valley Christian. For West Logan Christian Academy, this counts as revenge for the 86-72 defeat Teays Valley Christian walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

West Logan Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jacob Walls led the charge by scoring 27 points. Walls has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. James Scites was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.

When it comes to explaining why Teays Valley Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Maki Cary. Despite the final result, he scored 28 points along with nine rebounds. That was a full 47.5% of Teays Valley Christian's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Eli Pendleton, who scored 14 points along with two blocks.

Even though they lost, Teays Valley Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

West Logan Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Teays Valley Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-8.

West Logan Christian Academy will take on Independence at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Teays Valley Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against St. Albans at 7:00 p.m.
