Basketball Recap: Grand Oaks' Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

It was a good run, but Grand Oaks unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 75-67 to the College Park Cavaliers. The Grizzlies were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cavaliers earlier this season, when they won 66-56.

College Park had a senior duo take command as Ian Inman went 10 for 22 en route to 26 points and Aiden Buckmon posted 19 points and six boards. Buckmon has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Evan Mason was another key player, putting up ten points and five rebounds.

Grand Oaks' loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 10-1 and their overall record down to 23-7. As for College Park, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-8.

Grand Oaks and College Park should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Grand Oaks (ranked 83rd) will meet New Caney (ranked 1016th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, College Park will challenge Willis at 7:00 p.m. on Friday up 255 places (130 vs. 385).
