Softball Game Preview: Fairborn Skyhawks vs. Wayne Warriors

The Fairborn Skyhawks are taking a road trip to face off against the Wayne Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Fairborn will be looking to extend their current 14-game winning streak.

Fairborn's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over Xenia. Considering the Skyhawks have won nine games by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Mak George made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Nola Moulder was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Kalleigh Offill was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Fairborn kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive contests.

Wayne not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 15th (when they won 22-0). They were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over Springfield.

Fairborn's record now sits at 17-5. As for Wayne, their record is now 9-15.

Fairborn got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2021 against Wayne by a conclusive 14-2 score. Do the Skyhawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
