Football Recap: Yoakum Bulldogs vs. Columbia Roughnecks
Yoakum took a 25-point defeat the last time they faced off against Columbia, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bulldogs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 23-21 win over the Roughnecks on Friday. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 46-21 victory the Roughnecks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.
Despite the loss, Columbia still got an impressive performance from Logan Lewis, who picked up 136 receiving yards and three scores. Lewis really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 84 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Cade Thoe, who threw for 105 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only nine passes.

Yoakum's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-1.
