Volleyball Recap: Rancho Verde Gets the Win

While Rancho Verde's victory against Arlington wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mustangs narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Lions 3-2. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Rancho Verde wouldn't go down easily and took Arlington into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 28-12, 22-25, 21-25, 15-9.

Despite the loss, Arlington saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ethan Nguyen had six digs and four aces. Nguyen also set a new season-high mark in assists with 28. Another player making a difference was Sebastian Torres, who had 20 assists and one block.

Rancho Verde pushed their record up to 17-11 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Arlington, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-11.

Rancho Verde has already played their next match (against Poly), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Arlington, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against JW North on the 17th.
