Baseball Recap: Augusta Southeastern Takes a Loss

Augusta Southeastern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 4-1 to the Beardstown Tigers. The Suns were not able to make up for their loss to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Augusta Southeastern saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Griffin Tippey, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Tippey has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Augusta Southeastern's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Beardstown, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Augusta Southeastern will square off against Pittsfield at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Beardstown, they will face off against Rushville-Industry at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
