Basketball Recap: Make It Eight in a Row for Meade

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Meade ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They slipped by the North County Knights 59-58. 59 seems to be a good number for the Mustangs as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Meade found their leader in sophomore Keon Scott, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave Scott a new career-high in boards. Ashton Turman was another key player, putting up 21 points.

The win (which was Meade's eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.8 points per game. As for North County, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-3.

Meade will be playing in front of their home fans against Northeast at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Meade is facing Northeast at the right time seeing as Northeast is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
