Volleyball Recap: Central City Comes Up Short

Central City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the David City Scouts. If the Bison were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Scouts when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: David City scored at least 18 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-20.

Sydni Homolka paced Central City's offense, picking up eight kills. Homolka got some help from Tayllen Lee and her 13 assists. Homolka also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Ava Call, each putting up two.

Central City's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for David City, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6.

Central City has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Aquinas on the 27th. As for David City, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against North Bend Central on the 27th.
