Volleyball Recap: Monroe Area Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Monroe Area lost against Athens Academy two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Purple Hurricanes fell 2-0 to the Spartans.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-20.

Ashley Phiel paced Monroe Area's offense, picking up seven kills. Phiel got some help from Alyssa Brown and her 14 assists.

Monroe Area's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Athens Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.

Coincidentally, Monroe Area and Athens Academy will both be playing Morgan County the next time they take the court. The Purple Hurricanes will head out to face the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Spartans will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
