Volleyball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Cape Fear Academy

Cape Fear Academy waltzed into their match on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Wilmington Christian Academy Patriots. That's more bragging rights for the Hurricanes, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

While Cape Fear Academy might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Wilmington Christian Academy scored at least 12 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-22, 23-25, 24-26, 15-12.

Among those leading the charge was Abbey Moran, who had four digs and three aces.

Moran wasn't the only good server: Cape Fear Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 24 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in August of 2024.

Cape Fear Academy's record is now 5-0. As for Wilmington Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cape Fear Academy will venture away from home to face off against New Hanover at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Wilmington Christian Academy, they will take on Pender at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
