Softball Game Preview: Navarro Panthers vs. Fredericksburg Billies

The Navarro Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Fredericksburg Billies at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Navarro will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

On Tuesday, Navarro made easy work of Wimberley and carried off a 19-9 victory.

Meanwhile, Fredericksburg waltzed into their game on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They never let Canyon Lake get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Billies, who have now won 11 contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Makenna Duecker made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Duecker was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brindle Wolfe, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Addison Schoessow, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.

Fredericksburg pushed their record up to 18-9 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Navarro, their record now sits at 4-14-1.

Navarro might still be hurting after the 19-4 defeat they got from Fredericksburg in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
