The Kirby Prep Griffins won the last time they faced the Ceiba College Preparatory Academy Spartans, and things went their way on Friday too. Kirby Prep rang in the new year with a 49-40 win over Ceiba College Preparatory Academy. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Kirby Prep.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kirby Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chris Lively, who scored 25 points. The game was Lively's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rain Li, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds.

Kirby Prep's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Ceiba College Preparatory Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kirby Prep won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Apostles Lutheran at 12:00 p.m. on January 6th. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Jeremy Bork and Lively. As for Ceiba College Preparatory Academy, they will be playing at home against Pacific Collegiate at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pacific Collegiate has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
