Baseball Recap: Killian Find Success

Killian saw some tournament action on Tuesday. They skirted past the ABF Academy Cowboys 10-8.

Daniel Huerta and Jordan Scantlebury did most of the damage at the plate: Huerta went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Scantlebury went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Huerta has become a key player for Killian: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 7-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Dylan Castro, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Killian has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for ABF Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Killian will challenge JC Bermudez Doral at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for ABF Academy, they will face off against Cooper City at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
