Softball Game Preview: Chrisman Cardinals vs. Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin Blue Devils

Chrisman hasn't had much luck against Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Cardinals will be playing in front of their home fans against the Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. Chrisman will be strutting in after a win while Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin will be coming in after a loss.

Last Tuesday, Chrisman beat St. Thomas More 8-5.

Brianna Barna spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on nine hits and racked up 14 Ks.

On the hitting side, Izzy Barrett was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Morgan Simpson, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin suffered their closest defeat since April 12, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of St. Joseph-Ogden by a score of 3-1. The match marked the Blue Devils' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-7. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 3.75 runs. As for Chrisman, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
