Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Robinson walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Aubrey Chaparrals with a sharp 10-1 victory on Friday. Considering the Rockets have won 23 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Raelynn Van Zee made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Van Zee was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Kaygen Marshall was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Addison Williams, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Robinson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Aubrey only posted a batting average of .192.
The win was the third in a row for Robinson, bringing their record up to 37-3. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Aubrey, with the loss, they broke their 11-game winning streak and moved their record to 33-4.
As of now, neither Robinson nor the Chaparrals have any future games scheduled.
