Basketball Game Preview: Marquette Defenders vs. North Cedar Knights

Marquette is a perfect 7-0 against North Cedar since December of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Defenders will square off against the Knights at 7:30 p.m. Marquette will be strutting in after a victory while North Cedar will be coming in after a loss.

On Friday, Marquette humbled Prince of Peace Prep with an 81-25 victory. The win continues a trend for the Defenders in their matchups with the Irish: they've now won seven in a row.

Meanwhile, North Cedar was beaten by Edgewood-Colesburg 73-36 on Friday. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

North Cedar's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Marquette, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Everything came up roses for Marquette against North Cedar when the teams last played back in February, as the team secured a 92-31 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Defenders since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
