Basketball Recap: Royal Live Oaks Academy Takes a Loss

Royal Live Oaks Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were dealt an 80-23 loss at the hands of the Denmark-Olar Vikings. The match marked the Royal Knights' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Joshua Goodman was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 12 boards for Denmark-Olar. Goodman is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down 11 or more in the last four games he's played. Robert Bovain was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

Royal Live Oaks Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Denmark-Olar, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Royal Live Oaks Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Ridgeland Secondary Academy Of Excellence at 7:00 p.m. on January 28th. As for Denmark-Olar, they will face off against Ridgeland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
