Baseball Game Preview: Hawken Hawks vs. South Rebels

The Hawken Hawks are taking a road trip to take on the South Rebels at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Hawken is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.

On Tuesday, Hawken got the win against Orange by a conclusive 13-3. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by ten runs or more this season.

Cole Twardokus made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. Twardokus was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

In other batting news, Maddox Ruch was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Miles Hamilton, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, while South put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Kenston. The Rebels walked away with a 4-0 win over the Bombers.

Hawken pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for South, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-9.

Hawken couldn't quite get it done against South in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 5-0. Can the Hawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
