Baseball Recap: Tipton Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Tipton Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 12-11 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ripley Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-5 on March 5th.

Austin Tucker made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Athens McCullar also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Tipton Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Ripley, the victory snapped their losing streak at seven games and leaves them with a 2-8 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tipton Christian Academy will take on Trinity Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Ripley, they will challenge Covington at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
