             Foothill  took care of business in their home opener  on Saturday (and then some). They really took it to the West Valley Eagles for the full four quarters, racking up  an  85-53 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest  win the Cougars have posted  since December 8, 2023.
  Matt Poulsen was a one-man wrecking crew for Foothill as he  posted 18 points plus five  steals. The team also got some help courtesy of  Wyatt Forward, who  posted 13 points in addition to two  steals.
 Foothill was working as a unit and  finished the game with 21  assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Valley only racked up 13.
 When it comes to explaining why West Valley lost, don't look at  Jordan Heacock. Despite the final result, he  went 7 for 16 en route to 22 points plus three  steals. Another player making a difference was  Zack Boemeke, who  had seven points plus eight  rebounds and five  assists.
 West Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
 Foothill will face off against Mt. Shasta at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for West Valley, they will take on Cosumnes Oaks at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
