Soccer Game Preview: Bridge City vs. Silsbee

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Bridge City face off against Silsbee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bridge City is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last eight games.

Bridge City's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over Jasper. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by three goals or more this season.

Nate Stafford and Peyton Doucet scored all three of Bridge City's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 29 goals.

Silsbee fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against Little Cypress-Mauriceville by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. That's two games straight that the Tigers have won by exactly two goals.

Bridge City pushed their record up to 15-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those five matchups. As for Silsbee, their victory bumped their record up to 7-11.

Bridge City came out on top in a nail-biter against Silsbee in their previous meeting back in February, sneaking past 2-1. Will Bridge City repeat their success, or does Silsbee have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
