Softball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Conard's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Edwin O. Smith, Conard was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Middletown Blue Dragons. This was payback for the Red Wolves, who suffered a 4-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Conard is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for Middletown, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Conard will head out to take on Rocky Hill at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Red Wolves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Terriers have averaged an impressive 12.9 runs per game this season. As for Middletown, they will head out on the road to face off against Platt at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
