Riverside waltzed into their match on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They blew past the North Rangers 65-44. Given the Beavers' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 192nd, while the Rangers are ranked 403rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Riverside to victory were Colin Durkin and Drew Brown. Durkin went 7 of 14 en route to 17 points, while Brown dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 boards. The dominant performance gave Brown a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Durdella, who posted 11 points.

Riverside was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North only posted eight assists.

Despite the loss, North still got an impressive performance from Nate Sagendorph, who had 13 points and six boards. Braylon Rolf was another key player, putting up five points and five rebounds.

Riverside's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.2 points per game. As for North, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-6.

The future could be bright for both Riverside and North: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Riverside will try to hand Chardon their sixth-straight defeat when the two meet at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. Meanwhile, North will look to extend South's three-game losing streak when the meet at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
