Baseball Game Preview: Chatfield Chargers vs. Mountain Vista Golden Eagles

The Chatfield Chargers will head out on the road to square off against the Mountain Vista Golden Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Chatfield is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: Vauxhall Academy (Vauxhall, Alberta), who was ranked 11th in their home state at the time (Chatfield was ranked 22nd). Chatfield took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Vauxhall Academy (Vauxhall, Alberta) on Thursday. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chatfield saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reece Hodges, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That stolen base was Hodges' first of the season. Another was Brady Harman, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Mountain Vista also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Centennial by a score of 6-3.

Chatfield's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Mountain Vista, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Chatfield might still be hurting after the 9-3 defeat they got from Mountain Vista in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Chatfield avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
