Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Jazlyn Rhodes and Nora Roddy Lead St. Teresa's Academy to Victory

There's no place like home for St. Teresa's Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against the Notre Dame de Sion Storm by a score of 51-40 on Thursday. The Stars haven't had any issues with the Storm recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

St. Teresa's Academy was led to victory by Nora Roddy and Jazlyn Rhodes. Roddy went 7-for-12 en route to 18 points along with seven boards and three steals, while Rhodes posted 14 points in addition to six steals and five assists. Rhodes is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 13 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Addi Moylan, who put up nine points.

Defeat or not, Notre Dame de Sion got some senior leadership from Terryn Ford and Taelyn Smith. Ford scored 16 points, while Smith went 5-for-10 to rack up 13 points and seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ford has scored all season.

St. Teresa's Academy's win bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Notre Dame de Sion, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-10.

Looking ahead, St. Teresa's Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Pius X at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Notre Dame de Sion, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 61-34 defeat against Tipton on the 22nd.
