Softball Game Preview: West Side Eagles vs. Calico Rock Pirates

The West Side Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Calico Rock Pirates at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

West Side is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Scranton just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 12-6 to the Rockets.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Calico Rock's offense. They fell 4-0 to Concord on Tuesday. Calico Rock has struggled against Concord recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

West Side's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Calico Rock, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.

West Side couldn't quite get it done against Calico Rock when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 16-12. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
