Basketball Recap: Walthill Comes Up Short

Walthill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Hartington-Newcastle Wildcats, falling 57-25. The matchup marked the Blujays' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Among those leading the charge was Brayden Lammers, who went 6 for 8 on his way to 12 points and six rebounds. Carter Kelly was another key player, putting up six points and ten boards.

Walthill's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Hartington-Newcastle, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3.

Walthill will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Omaha Christian Academy on January 3, 2025. As for Hartington-Newcastle, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against West Holt at 7:00 p.m. West Holt will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Hartington-Newcastle surely won't give up without a fight.
