Basketball Game Preview: Grapevine Faith Christian Lions vs. All S Saints

The Grapevine Faith Christian Lions will face off against the All S Saints at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Grapevine Faith Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine games -- so hopefully All S likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, Grapevine Faith Christian took their matchup with ease, bagging a 94-66 win over Southwest Christian School. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 24 points or more this season.

Grapevine Faith Christian had a senior duo take command as Brennen Byrd dropped a double-double on 20 points and 23 boards and Mason Barnett went 8 of 13 from beyond the arc on his way to 26 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Barnett has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Leslie, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine assists.

Grapevine Faith Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, All S can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They walked away with a 52-43 victory over Fort Worth Christian.

Grapevine Faith Christian pushed their record up to 20-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 90.6 points per game. As for All S, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-10.

Everything came up roses for Grapevine Faith Christian against All S when the teams last played back in November of 2023, as the squad secured an 87-41 win. Does Grapevine Faith Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will All S turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
