Calhoun County lost to Ridge Spring-Monetta back in February, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Calhoun County Saints skirted past the Ridge Spring-Monetta Trojans 41-39. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Saints.

Calhoun County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cassidy Pough led the charge by dropping a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Raniya Tyler, who posted 13 points.

Despite the defeat, Ridge Spring-Monetta saw an underclassman step up: freshman Ny'Asia Young dropped a double-double on 16 points and 20 rebounds. Those 20 boards set a new season-high mark for Young. Kennedy Ligons was another key player, putting up six points along with seven boards and six steals.

Calhoun County's record is now 2-0. As for Ridge Spring-Monetta, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Calhoun County will challenge North at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ridge Spring-Monetta, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Pelion at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
