Soccer Recap: Tustin Takes a Loss

Tustin lost against Kennedy back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Tustin Tillers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kennedy Fighting Irish. While losing is never fun, the Tillers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 428th, while the Fighting Irish are ranked 178th).

Tustin's goal came courtesy of Emma Mendel, who's now up to three this season.

Tustin's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1-1 and their overall record down to 7-6-4. As for Kennedy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tustin will welcome Godinez Fundamental at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kennedy has already played their next match (against Buena Park), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
