Volleyball Game Preview: Wright Panthers vs. Big Horn Rams

Wright is 2-8 against Big Horn since September of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 3:30 p.m.

Wright lost 3-0 to Tongue River on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Panthers have suffered against the Eagles since October 30, 2021.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-18, 25-10.

Meanwhile, Big Horn faced Evanston in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Rams came out on top in a nail-biter against the Devils, sneaking past 2-1.

Big Horn found their leader in sophomore Lilly Thomas, who had 17 digs and two aces.

Wright's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Big Horn, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Wright has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.6 aces per game. However, it's not like Big Horn struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Wright suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Big Horn when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
